Near Trujillo, Chan Chan was the capital of the Kingdom of ChiMu cultures, one of the most powerful of South America, though less famous that the Inca.
In 1986 the Unesco declared this archaeological relic a cultural heritage of humanity. And is not for less: by 15 km ² in which extends Chan Chan, there are ruins of the buildings built in adobe, a material prepared with straw and clay, gravel, ideal for the region in the town, almost no rainfall. Not by chance, Chan Chan means "Sun Sun".
